Welcome to DUCK FLATS FARM! We are located on a 34-acre 18th century working farm nestled in the shadow of the Hunterdon Highlands, Round Mountain, and Cherryville Mountain in Raritan Township, Hunterdon County. We still have our beloved Finnish Landrace (Finn) and Finn-cross sheep as well as Alpacas, plus Cashgora and Cashmere goats.
The Finn and Finn-cross sheep are known for their soft wool that is strong but light in weight, and so warm! It is wonderful for all types of garments, even for baby clothes due to its softness. We blend our Finn wool with the Alpaca and Cashgora fleeces to make spectacular hand-spun and mill-spun yarns!
We sell many types of roving for hand spinning, felting and Australian Locker Hooking. Needlework supplies for knitting and crochet are also available. Private and group lessons are available by appointment.
The Fiber Studio is always open by appointment, and at 4 specific times of the year when we hold our 1 or 2-day Open House:
